A trained professional in the field of Human Resources and a dedicated art enthusiast, Somna Tugnait leads Gurukul from the front in all its projects. Having been attached to the corporate worlds of aviation for almost 2 decades, she brings to Gurukul her distinct methodologies, fair business practices and a vision to be the best Indian dance academy in the Middle East with branches in UK and Switzerland.
Her past assignments include those with the Emirates Group and Cathay Pacific Airways, Vancouver/Canada and Hong Kong. Somna has made path-breaking forays into the Dubai Academia fraternity and has taken Gurukul Art Outreach Programs to the academic platforms. Her successful projects include the Kathak Festival with Pt. Birju Maharaj, Pali Chandra and Saswati Sen in 2011, Sufi Noor in 2009 and 2012, Navaras and Naach – 100 Years of Bollywood to name a few.
A people’s person at heart, a mentor and the executive decision maker, she has helped make Gurukul a place for dance lovers to connect with.
